Cause a Stampede of Prospects With Three Magic Words, Part 3
In my first two installments of the Cause a Stampede of Prospects series, we went over how to plan, and develop your automated audio marketing campaign. The goal is to be able to develop an idea to offer your prospects that is meant to turn them into prospects. Then, create a compelling message that grabs their attention, and then motivates them to pick up the phone and call you. In this installment, we’ll learn the best way to record your message, quickly and easily, with no hassle.
Don’t Leave Your Message at the Beep
Now that you have your message, it’s time to get it recorded. It’s best to use a third party service that provides voicemail services that allow you to record a message only, and not actually take a message. That’s because you want your message to get out, but you don’t want to let any messages get in. Why? Because, at the end of your message, you have a call to action, where your invitation to find out more or take advantage of your program is given to the listener.
If you leave the possibility for people to leave a message, you may get people wanting to shop by voice mail; which not the most efficient use of your time. If a listener has questions, and they have the means to leave a message, you’ll have opened the door to tying yourself up replying to phone calls. Instead, simply take away that ability, so that they must take the next step and contact YOU.
This is important because you want your phone to ring with interested buyers, not tire-kickers.
The Right System Makes Life Easier
If you use this campaign to get your phone to ring, it’ll ring with people who are somewhat serious about your offer. However, if you set up this type of campaign on an answering machine, you’ll have torpedoed your efforts in two ways.
First, you’ll be leaving open the ability for the listener to leave a message. If you’re asking “is this bad?”, then you haven’t been paying attention. The second thing is that you’re severely limiting yourself as to how many calls you can take at one time.
A single phone line, with one answering machine will only let you take one call at a time. Anyone else trying to get through gets a busy signal. A busy signal does one thing to your prospect. Turns them off. A turned off prospect is a turned away prospect.
Therefore, a third party voicemail service is extremely valuable in a few ways:
* It allows you to have a professional presence.
* It can take multiple calls at the same time. An answering machine simply cannot do this.
* You can use a toll free number for additional credibility and watch your response rates increase dramatically.
* You can use multiple extensions for tracking success rates of different recorded messages.
* You can use an extension off the same system to invite your listener to call you at the same number, different extension.
You’d also be able to use the same system for your own extension, and be able to change your personal voicemail greeting on the fly, from anywhere. This would be great for turning your voicemail into a virtual assistant. The service I recommend would be My1Voice. They have all the features you’d need for a successful campaign, plus their pricing is really cheap, too.
When you record your message, be sure to record it with passion, and with emotion. Don’t be just reading your words, or it will either chase your prospect away, or bore them to tears. Be sure to capture the emotion that shows them you’re on their side. The listener is looking for ways to discount your offer. Be sure to convey all the benefits, along with the passion that comes from helping others solve their problems with your product or service.
In the Next Installment…
So far, we’ve got our automated marketing message growing from a seed of an idea, blooming all the way to an actual “free recorded message”. Now it’s time to learn how to advertise your offer to get maximum exposure, without spending any money. I’ll be covering that in the next installment. So stay tuned!
